Riding the LiveWire S2 Del Mar Up Goodwood: Electrifying in Every Sense
I had the absolute pleasure (and adrenaline rush) of taking the LiveWire S2 Del Mar up the legendary Goodwood Hill Climb at this year’s Festival of Speed, and let me tell you—as much as people roll their eyes at an electric bike, this machine is ACE! Sharing the same strip of tarmac where motorsport legends like Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Travis Pastrana have left tire marks, the S2 Del Mar held its own with poise, punch, and a surprising dose of cool.

And because it's electric, I didn’t have to worry about the ultimate Raven nightmare: stalling in front of 50,000 people. The twist-and-go nature of the S2 Del Mar meant smooth, instant power delivery—no clutching, no fuss, just go.

The corners? Smooth as silk. Within minutes, I felt totally confident leaning into the bends, and the low center of gravity gave it a planted, agile feel. It doesn’t throw its weight around, but the weight is just right—enough to feel stable at speed, but light enough to flick around with ease. And for the shorter riders out there (like me), the seat height meant I could get both feet flat on the ground. That’s a huge win for comfort and confidence.

Looks-wise, the S2 Del Mar is sharp, modern, and absolutely dripping with attitude. The colour options were stunning in the metal—bold without being too loud. But it still gives off that unmistakable Harley-Davidson DNA. There’s a certain presence to it that says, “Yeah, I’m electric... but I’ve still got some rebel in me.”

I honestly fell in love with it. The combination of electric precision, Harley heritage, and futuristic style makes the LiveWire S2 Del Mar a real standout—not just on the Goodwood Hill, but as a serious player in the next-gen motorcycling world.
