DAY TWO
COUNTRIES COVERED - FRANCE & BELGIUM
HOURS AND MILES - 4 HOURS / 120 MILES
About a 2 hour ride away from Mons is Namur, a cute little city called Namur in Belgium, I saw the twistie roads leading down from the castle when I was doing some research and just HAD to visit here! The castle is stunning and leads down a really twisty road all the way down to the city, of course we stuck the drone up and took the bike into the castle grounds! We met up with one of our followers here, grabbed some food in a strange bar that only served spaghetti bolognese (our fave so we didn't care) and had a coffee and catch up before we headed to Dinant 'The Sacred Valley'.
The roads definitely got a lot better here, we went through some really amazing twisties and hills to get to Dinant, our next destination and where we would be stopping for the night.
Dinant was stunning, you enter through the inside of a broken mountain and the view points were insane! Huge cathedral, LOADS of bikers and restaurants and theres a cable car that takes you up the side of the cliffs and up to a historical spot you can visit with caves, tunnels and history. the views of the cathedral here were out of this world! Definitely make sure you visit the fortress at the top and get the cable cars down!
We stayed at Auberge Grill Le Freyr, about 5 minutes ride from the center, seemed to be a biker hot spot and was listed as a Biker stay over. They had large rooms, restaurant and secure parking as well as some really great viewing spots over the road. There were a lot of walking trails, hikers and abseiling groups in the area too - we went and grabbed some drone content but explored the city and ate out just as it was so pretty!
